Other Woodwork by Richard Findley Although Woodturning is my main business and passion, I also have an interest in furniture and have made a number of pieces for various customers. Because of size limitations in my small workshop, I tend to only make smaller, handmade bespoke furniture and always of the highest quality in either solid wood (Hardwood or Softwood) or in painted MDF. Some examples of my work are below: Solid Oak Cabinet/Dresser: This was made to my client's own design and is made in solid Oak with and Oil and Wax finish which brings out the beautiful grain and golden glow of the Oak. The Cabinet was designed to hide an Electric meter in the corner of the dining room. Oak DVD/CD Presentation Box: This box is designed to hold 20 DVDs or CDs. Made in Oak with all brass fittings and finished with an Oil and Wax finish, this box has a lovely natural glow to it. The Sign stands at around 1650mm tall (65") and is free standing to allow it to be positioned anywhere. The finish is liberally applied Oil to help withstand the elements as this is designed to live in the garden. MDF Toy Box: This toy box has a hinged lid and is made from 12mm MDF with a gloss white painted finish. The lettering on the top is cut from thin MDF, painted separately and fixed on to the lid. |
