For the more experienced turner I offer project based sessions of your choice. I offer courses and lessons tailored to suit individual requirements, either full day one to one courses or half days, I am happy to work with you to improve your turning. I believe that good technique and confidence with tools is key to good turning, so courses cover the basics of spindle turning including: Use of Spindle Gouge Use of Skew Chisel Turning of Beads and Coves Sharpening tools If your preference is for Bowl turning then I also cover all aspects of this discipline: Use of Bowl Gouge Roughing and fine finishing cuts Power sanding Tool sharpening Reverse mounting techniques At the end of a course you should leave with confidence in your ability to use the tools needed to turn wood successfully and with a basis for you to go away and build upon in your own workshop. You should also leave with at least one finished turning! For the more experienced turner I can offer subject based tuition, so if you fancy a go at turning goblets, boxes, bowls, platters, barley twists, long work, large diameter work or if you have a specific project in mind but need some guidance, I can tailor the day to meet your requirements. All tuition is carried out on my Wadkin RS 8 lathe, a full induction along with a health and safety briefing is carried out before work begins so you are comfortable with its use. As a member of the Register of Professional Turners, I am assessed on my tuition skills via feedback forms sent to the secretary of the Register. One to one tuition

I am pleased to offer Woodturning Tuition aimed at the beginner or relative newcomer to turning, wishing to improve their skills and technique. For the more experienced turner I offer project based sessions of your choice.

I offer courses and lessons tailored to suit individual requirements, either full day one to one courses or half days, I am happy to work with you to improve your turning.
